We lost the Wyandotte to raccoons when we first moved here... are there raccoons in the Philippines? I've also added a couple more gals to the mix since this post... obviously need to update. These are the original 4. I have 7 right now and I'll probably adding another in the Fall so my daughter can enjoy raising them from a chick. They are a lot of fun. All 4 are laying now and we started to give away some! We are still working on our Tomatoes garden, but as far as yard maintanance, the chickens are great! They ate all weeds :) Yes, those are great! I don't have any, but will when the time is more suitable. I've heard from friends that the Araucana breed is particularly pleasant to have as they have easy going personalities, are very good at foraging for their own food (which means they eat lots of bugs, which means their eggs are extra high in Omega-3s and have those rich dark orange yolks) and their eggs are a very pretty blue-green color. I guess with your plant starts growing inside and your chickens making fertilizer outside, gardening might be in order?
